I like SCM a lot. It typically has down-to-earth articles on the realities of "collector" cars.

I think he was being too critical of the cars while on camera.

I like your thinking Peter. A slant is a must have if money grew on trees. I am drawn to Pcars in there minimal state. The early lightweight cars with high revving engines, in my mind, is the Porsche philosophy. I just don't get as excited about fender flares, turbos, and wings and the extra weight they represent. Don't get me wrong though, I love a dose of 930 elixer anytime I can get it. However if I am going all out, the wretched excess of the slant-nose is a lucsious indulgence. I might even get one of those woodgrain kits to compliment the A/D/S sound system. No Gotti wheels though.

Aaah, yes, so true! The last car I worked on before having to undergo shoulder replacement surgery/disability was a really nice, very original, 1967 soft window 911S Targa. I did this and that to the car (at a shop it would have easily exceeded $6K worth of work), finished up a number of items (the car had mostly sat for the better part of 20 years), balanced and adjusted the carbs and took the car for a long test drive. As far as cars go, that one was heaven on earth, and, thankfully it has a wonderful owner who appreciates every minute spent in the car.

So true. My '73S could gobble up Boxters and M3s at the track like candy. Getting "pointed up" by many a "larger" car was quite gratifying. Stock Konis and 205s on stock rims was barely enough for the flexibility of the motor on the backside twisties, and it had some stink on the front stretch too. Could auger deep into the curves as well. All the time just listening to it sing out that note thru the throttles. It doesn't get any better...and for turbos and wings, well I'll just say my car had more capabilities than I. And an even more wicked street fighter.
