Default What about this 77/3.2

Thanks again to all of you guys who spoke up when I asked for help in comparing an 82 and an 87 a few weeks back. Since then I've been considering this one, which someone had commented on after looking at the Pelican listings.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...ting-sale.html

I spoke with the owner for an hour the other night. He has driven the car only 4k miles since acquiring the car 5 years ago. He says it handles great, pulls hard, no problems, etc...

The not so great things:

windshield seal not tight everywhere---lets a bit of water in when the car is washed.

couple small scratches on the wheels.

oil drips (didn't know origin---i've contacted the guy who sold it to this guy to ask about that)

intermittent squeak in the front. the guy didn't know if any of the bushings had been replaced w/ poly. apparently some spray lube stops the squeak, but it hasn't bothered him enough to chase down and fix.

Seeing as I want a car to drive on the nearby backroads and hopefully occasionally take some drivers' ed now and again, and that I'm not looking to get into too pristine a first porsche, I wonder if you think this one might be a good fit. Anything I should be concerned about or ask about?

Thanks, and Happy New Year.

I'd hit it

Just change the windshield gasket and tear up the roads.

Regarding the front squeak, after suspension work, one a-arm bushing started squeaking on my '84 911. If this car has the same issue, buy an Elephant Racing front a arm bushing kit, have your shop press 'em in, do an alignment & you are good to go. The last time I checked, the front bushing kit was $250.

No way, everybody knows Targas can't be tracked.

That could be a really fun car.

Baby,

Hope you got my replies.
This is my old car and my wife says I should by it back, she likes it better than my 993. With 22/28 torsions she did just fine in the few AX I took her to. Very solid car that might need front bushings upgraded, other than that I'd just driver her.
