Default Road trip to Zion, Utah. Pictures!

Did a road trip to Zion Natural Park in Utah. Drove with my buddy from LA to Las Vegas and then to Zion and back. Luckily it didn't snow and the P-car drove awesome. I have a Targa so I HAD to drive with the top down, hence the picture of me driving sporting my "Raising Arizona" shades. Although it was sunny, I was going about 95 mph through the cold Nevada, Arizona and Utah desert climat (about 45 degrees).

Enjoy!

I live in Utah and love Zion National Park. But I like the Eastern Utah Better.

Arches National Park, Canyon Lands National Park, Dead Horse Point State Park all within about 1/2 hour of each other.

Come one over, drive you P car and leave some money here. We need it.

I live in Utah too. And yes, we need your money -- Utah is part of the deep south when it comes to per capita income.

Arches is wonderful, and the Moab area has some of the best mountain bike trails in the U.S. But, Zion National Park is my favorite NP. Bryce (also in Utah) has more fanciful sandstone, but you drive, as shown in these photos, down the bottom of the canyon in Zion, right next to the river that carved the whole thing. That's pretty unique.

I'll see if I can find some spectacular photos of the Park in summer to post along with these winter shots.

Just down the road from Zion is Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. We have gone to walk the dogs and pet the cats. It is a real eye opener if you love animals. You must make an advance reserve to go and the training is very short.

Trust me when I say you have never seen anything like this.

You can take home a fido or kitty if you are of the mind to.

It runs on donations, no kill and complete with hospital. Hundreds of acres of stunning earth. We stay in town and drive to the property. Very professional.

That one pic made me think of Hunter S. Thompson.
