Sorry I scared you Doug, The scary part for me was opening the hood, I had no idea what I would find. At the auction the hood could not be opened for inspection, so I had to hold my breath and bid. Luckily I got it at a pretty good price..

I swear I saw one in the exact same condition a few years back. No damage under the hood, just under the fender. It was as good as new in no time. Yours looks very doable. Keep us up to date.

So ....does she fire?

Unfortunately not at the moment, although the battery is a bit melted at the moment and a few wires are exposed, I will get in and clean it up first before I try to fire it up..

This thing:

ya know what I'd do is put a list togeather for the girl at L.A. Porsche Dismantlers and see what the entire list of repair parts will cost.

Thanks Doug, good idea, I spoke to a guy yesterday who said what he does with any 911 pre 90 is convert the fuse holders to this
http://www.narva.com.au/products/browse/boxes
As he recons the old ceramic fuses are the cause of most fires. I am definitely considering doing it.

i would never do it ... it may be the most practical solution but that old fuse nox is part of the mystic of that generation 911
