Post 84' 911 Carrera fuel tank removal

Howdy-

Any tips on pulling the fuel tank out of my 911? I am going through the front area and thoroughly cleaning this project car out after it has sat in storage, been home to a mouse, and had a hood seal leak that left some water and muck inside. Looks at first like a half hour job to pull it or...

Any tips appreciated!

Thanks!

The worst part is draining the fuel out of the tank. Disconnect the fuel supply line and drain out the fuel, then disconnect the return line, the bolts that clamp the tank to the chassis, and the fuel filler hose. I think you might have to take out the battery for easier access, but I can't remember. Once the tank is out, you can dump the remaining fuel out of the filler.

With my 3.2, do I need to depressurize the fuel system before disconnecting any fuel lines, or pull the pump fuse and run it out of gas, etc...?

Thanks
