Hi All,
Sooo sorry about the fire. In both of my Pcars I carry a 2lb. extinguisher that can fit under the seat easily, just in case. The fresh air fan and condensor fan are known to catch fire. All of you already know this. My big question is where do you find 2.5lb halon extinguishers? I live by the attitude of prevention rather than cure. If I have a fire, and I hope no one else does, I would love halon versus sodium-bicarbonate for clean up and to minimize collateral damage. I had heard that halon had been banned due to being a carcinogen. Anyone know how much of this is true or have a better idea other than just leaving everything off or replacing these components? Thanks, Mark

My front blower made an almost screaming sound when I first got the car. I was so fogged up a few times that I had to use it and endure the noise. After hearing this story, I am feeling lucky that it didn't catch on fire. I had a new blower motor put in at the beginning of this summer and it works quitely and beautifully. Just keep in mind that if you buy the blower from Porsche, you get the whole unit which is $400 - $600. You can order just the motor from Bosch for aroun $150. I guess in your particdular care, you will need the whole unit as the old one melted. You should be a ble to get a used one cheaper. Best of luck!

cobra2top, glad to see you made it. The wife is going to beat you if you keep putting old cars in your garage.
