Never had a baby seat in either of my 911's(or any car for that mater). But I have hauled my bikes and my dad's kyak on my Thule rack, mounted on the car. I think the max load is like 160lbs. So a couple kyaks or bicycles is no problem.

I have a Saris Bones 2-bike trunk rack that I have used to carry my road bike on my '69 911. I remove the wheels to cut down on a gust of wind tearing off the engine deck.
I have had less luck putting carseats in.

Hey- I resemble that remark! I never carried bikes or kayaks, but I used my Thule surfboard racks to carry 4 wheels and tires to autox events on my early 911 with no problems, except for a little paint scratching around the rain gutters when I didn't pad them properly.
Because I had to stand the tires straight up to get all 4 on the racks, there was A LOT of windage from this setup. Gas mileage was poor and opening the sunroof was implausible at freeway speeds. I eventually replaced the Thules with a 50" x 50" Surco Safari rack that would hold 4 9" Goodyear slicks on 15" rims laying flat. That worked really well until I got my enclosed trailer, and now I can carry the car, 4 sets of wheels and tires and the kitchen sink to the track.
If anybody wants my old Safari rack, I will sell it for $100 plus shipping.

As far as a baby seat, I use a Porsche Prince, part number 000 802 015 04 on the back of a Carrera 3.2. It fits in there great and is a very easy seat to use. It's for 20 lbs on up. They have 3 different models according to the weight of the child. I don't know if all of them fit back there well, but the Prince does. It is sold by Porsche in every country in the world, but the US. Usual. I picked mine up in Brazil at the local dealership the last time I was there.
