Default A few beauties I saw in Vegas last week

If you've spent any time in Vegas you know it's got the examples of the best and worst of everything. In one of the worst casinos I found one of the best showrooms of antique cars. It's in the Imperial Palace (across from the Mirage) and they've got about $100 million in inventory in less than 300 cars. Most of them are for sale. Here are a few of the Porsches (a couple aren't 911 but you'll get over it).

I once ran into Jay Leno at that museum. That morning there were only 3 people in the place, my wife and I and Jay. Back in the 80's before the Tonight show. He was playing across the street at the time.

Back then the collection was mostly for display not for sale. Now it is the other way around. I like it either way. They used to have about a dozen Dusenbergs in there.

They have Johnny Carson's first car in there now. It was his dad's and when he made some money he had it tracked down, bought it, restored it... and then sold it to the guy that owns that place for $1 so he'd put it on display. The place has pretty much everything you could imagine. I looked into purchasing one vehicle (it feel thru, was on consignment and it wasn't in the shape they thought it was in) and learned they keep roughly $250 million in inventory between their three locations and they move about 10 cars a week. A lot of the prices aren't firm either. I offered 25% less than the tag and they accepted.

Been there once...a few years ago. The collection was outstanding, and I'm guessing still is. You can access it online at

That place looks great! I was in Vegas once, but I had just turned 21 and I don't remember much of the trip. Maybe I'll be focused enough when I return to actually go look at some cars (instead of the bottoom of cocktail glasses).

Nice

I'll have to check the place out when I visit next year.

Some of those are bargains compared to the new Panaroma Turbo I checked out last weeking that the someone just paid $170,000

Now how much will it depreciate each day...

I take it those cars are not realyl for sale based on the price of that black slant nose and the 1994 speedster, no one will be paying anything near their asking price anytime soon.

They seem to put prices up there to catch a vegas fish. I think the slantnose might bring it since it was the only one made that year like that.
