Well the latest is the fellow has gone else where to buy a car. I'm almost happy as I didn't want to sell this one. I want to sell the 356. Or trade the 356 for a 914/6.
So, I will do the tubes, one way or another. Pete, they are original to the engine. Butzip thank you. I will digest this information. At sixty its getting a little harder to do things, or am I just being a baby. Attached is picture of the car.

Well I'm not 60yrs old, so I cannot comment about you being a baby. All I know is your 60 and you have a 356 and a 911 so no matter what, you're OK in my book.
How about attaching a pic of the 356?
A decent shop should be able to do this job in an hour, but they'll probably bill you for 2. Parts and labor, you'll be looking at at least a $350 bill for the job. Parts will set you back $130 if you do it yourself. If you are handy and interested in learning more about your car and don't mind crawling around, getting a little messy or sore. Go for it. If you would rather not bother to get that 'intimate' with your car and just want it to stop leaking, take it to the shop. It's not what I would call an easy job, if you've never done it.
I would say if you can have someone do it for $350 parts and labor, it would be worth it.

I am hijacking my own thread. Terrible paint, supposed to be Ivory and upholstory is a twenty footer. Upside, very solid with a Harry Pellow rebuilt engine. Numbers correct down to the fuel pump. Wheels not original. Yes original Talbot Berlin mirrors.

I owned it about a year and a half. Just a little over 75K miles. Asking 18K with very little wiggle room. I am very honest and tell everything that I would fix. I am eating 3K. Probably to much money but it is a nice car. It has had two PPI's done. One in Tucson and one here at Shermans. Since then I have put, I think, 400 miles on car. I want to own a 914/6. At sixty I need to get all of my disires out of the way. Ed Hughes has seen the car. Runs perfect minus tube leak.

Dennis Sherman's is great. If they give it the Good Houskeeping Seal of Approval, it's all good. They helped me with a couple of cars in the distant past and most recently with my 79 911SC. It was a real rescue job and they pulled my ashes out of the fire! That is a nice 356 and a nice 911 Coupe as well. You are living the good life!

There are a many nice cars for sale in that price range so I don't expect it to be sold. I wish one of you would buy the 356 so I can keep the 911. I need a warehouse, oh' ........and some money.
