Stock Wheel Lock Alternatives for Aftermarket Rims
I just replaced my stock FUCHS w/ a set of Milli Miglia Cup 3 rims. With the new rims, it's impossible to utilize the stock wheel locks. The lug offsets in the rear rims especially are about 6" deep so there's no way to get the lock cap on/off, the key in, or even if you managed those 2, to get the cylinder itself off. The front rims are not as deep, but still pose the same poblem. I put on a lock in the front (as a test) and it took me almost 45 mins and alot of worry before I was finally able to remove it - ACK! For now, they are not locked.
So - any recommendations for some aftermarket wheel locks that can be used in such deep offsets? and which will not throw off my balancing. (i.e. do not require a key and are aluminum). Back in the day I had a steel set on some Cragar SST rims where one lug had key pattern in the lug and the key you inserted into the lug wrench. These were steel though. Do they make these in alum. Anyone use something different?
Thanks!
