oil pressure switch and o-ring...

The O-ring can only be replaced with the thermostat out of the engine. Just clean the top of the engine thoroughly, and as you do it will become apparent what you've got to do.

So I got my head in there and apparently everything looks dry. If this is where leak is coming from wouldn't the oil be clearly visible or does the thermostat and oil pressure switch need to come out in order to determine? I have not taken then out yet.

If the topside is dry, then leave it alone. The bottom side leaks could be oil return tubes, which are a little bit more difficult to replace. You should probaby clean the engine up so that you can spot fresh leaks more easily.

spent the weekend searching for leak, its coming from oil return tubes. Do I replace seals or the tubes? If I replace the tubes which kind? Pelican has three different kinds?
Thanks...I have to go change my boy noow, he just did #2

I went through this a few times and had to return defective oil return tubes, but I'm sorry to say that I can't remember which ones finally ended up working well. I can snap a pic if it helps.

2quik4u, a couple opf comments. You have to remove the thermostat to get to the green "O" ring becase it is inside a groove in the thremostat. If do remove it (one of these days) lubricate it liberally so it slides in the engine cavity easily. It will go in with a little force. What you don't want to do is put it in dry or you will cut small slivers of the ")" ring off and that will be a potential leakage area.
Also, Do you know if you have collapsible return tubes on the engine now? If you don't and take them out, you will need collapsible ones when you go back in there, or you'll have to tear the engine down. Just make sure what you have before removing the tubes.

the "oem expandable" kit looks like the one that I have now, which has worked well with no leaks since 2002.
Still, when I can get under there and snap a clear pic, I'll come back and post here for future reference.

Leo...I took these yesterday. I have the kit with red o-rings, not the green viton ones. I have had this on the car for many years without a drop of leaking oil.
I don't remember where I got it, perhaps Automotion/ Performance Products http://www.automotion.com/product.as...Fid=4366#tab_a
At the time, I had tried mutiple kits, and this one finally stopped the leaking.
