Some of the cars I've seen just driving down the street on that island are to die for and now they have a show!?!?! That island has to be the single highest concentration of 356's on the planet.

There was a Genetta (sp?) there that kicked some serious butt on some big V8's..
it had 1600ccs, looked like a shrunken Jag XKE

Rick, was that the yellow Ginetta hardtop? It was unbelievable how fast that car was and the cornering ability was equally amazing. The guy was like a madman behind the wheel.

They've been doing the races for several years, at least. I was up at the Monterey Historics in August, and while that's a bigger event I think Coronado is more accessible and laid back.

Great photos above, btw. I hope to join the Speedster family early next year, finances permitting.

Ed, I wondered what had happened to you. I could stay only a short time as the heat bouncing off of the concrete was to much for my girlyman self.

Yep, I passed as I went to Monterey this year, and hoped to watch the Lizards lock up the ALMS.

I was down at the boat early Sunday morning and could easily hear the early sessions across the bay. Made me sad that I didn't go Saturday.

I really thought it was great venue, alot more off track going on. With the static cars, vendors, band, beer garden just alot more than Cal Festival of Speed. Speaken of CFOFS coming up soon..
