Post Permatune/coil issues

My 76 930 has ignition issues (why not, as I have a bunch too) The car fails to start after running for 15 20 mins, it will just crank, with no spark reaching the engine. Permatune box and coil are both suspect, but what order should the replacement take? I can't get stranded out in the middle of nowhere wishing I had done both. New coil wire installeed by my mech. and car ran fine for a day. Thanks, Dave

If time is on your side,I would do the following-remove coil and see if any of the local parts places can test it,if not go ahead and replace because this is fairly inexpensive to replace. As far as the Permatune goes,I believe they are still in business, you should be able to find a address and phone number searching the web, once you find that either call them or e-mail them and see if they will test and or repair the unit. You may be able to have it tested/repaired for much less than buying new.Good luck <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />
