Default What kind of yellow is my 911E Targa from 1973 ????

Hey there !!

The previous owner in Holland told me that it was painted in signal yellow (color code 114), but I a getting uncertain, as it looks more like Bluten Gelb (color code 139).

What do you think ? How can I be certain ? I am looking for touch-up paint in the right color code

HELP !!

PS. I cannot track the guy that did the beautiful paint job

wow gorgeous car ...
can't you just take your car to a body shop and have them match it for touch up ?
That's what I did and it was very close

Thanks, I will take it to the body shop and have their help.

I now have four color options:

1) Signal yellow (114)
2) Bluten Gelb (139)
3) Speed yellow
4) Fly yellow

Confused ? I am

My guess is speed yellow, but that doesn't help you much 'cause I'm an idiot.

That first shoot in the mustard field is great!

Well, I know it's not Talbot Yellow.

What does the paint tag say? Paint tag is at the hinge post of driver's door. Should be a code stamped on it, very easy to decode. http://www.356-911.com/modelinfo/911...olours7173.htm

Look what I did. Before and after.
I added the Carrera script, chin spoiler, blacked out the wheels and added the duck bill. It looks like a completely new car. Well ? ? ?

I'd vote for Signal-don't think they had Speed Yellow in that era.

Some colors fade, such as red. I would ask to have a body shop mix up some paint based on the body panel that you want to touch up, say the hood for example. If it doesn't match perfectly there, you'll notice right away.

I have had some speed yellow pieces and it looks close, signal is darker (hard to tell in photos exactly)

I vote BEAUTIFUL YELLOW !!

So Speed yellow is still popular and if you have a Porsche dealer near you just watch for one to come for sale and put your car next to it... it should be easy to tell if they are the same. - Signal is harder to find, but maybe if you link up with the locals in your area and hit some of the get together's you will get the right answer..

welcome and again, great looking car!!
