Post Another Oil Question

As long as we are once again on the subject of oil, is it OK to mix Synthetics? I have been using Mobil 1 30 and wanted to switch to something heavier - i have a DE this weekend and so thought I'd add something heavier, as I will no doubt need to add something - But I could not find Mobil 1 5W 50. Is Castro Syntec and or Penzioll synthetic Ok to mix?
BTW, two mech.'s ahve suggested taht oil wt. has a lot to do w/ consumption - makes sense...
a quick answer is appreciated as i will not be on line after 12 pm Fri. @ the latest
thanks in advance.

I haven't seen a Mobil 1 5W50, but there is a 15W50, which Autozone, Pep Boys, Sams, Walmart, etc all carry. I wouldn't mix oil brands, as they use different additives. If you have trouble finding the right weight of Mobil 1, this link will help you find Mobil 1 dealers: http://clients.mapquest.com/mobil1/mqlocator?link=find&site=mobil1
