Post Reverse Light Switch

Hi, I went to replace my reverse light switch on my 915 Tranny (77 911 3.0 Euro) and was wondering if there is some type of pin I should see that goes into the switch to turn on and off. I did not see any pin in the hole where the switch goes.
Just curious.
Thanks.

Yes there is a pin, the part number is 91530314500. The factory refers to it as a "cam follower" .

Thanks Howard, should I be able to see it from outside the tranny? Is it something that could fall inside the motor?
Thanks for your help.

I don't think it can actually fall forward into the outer case. I would think that someone assembled the gearbox and did not actually install it. The pin should be visible with the switch removed and I believe( if memory serves me) the pin actually enters the switch.

David,
The pin that activates the reverse switch is located inside the 915 casing. You won't see it until you disassenble the front cover of your transmission.

David,

You don't need to remove the outer case to see the pin. The pin is inserted with the round end pointing to the switch after the case is assembled.
I've included a exploded view of the parts here:

Howard,
You're right. I did not remove my reverse switch when I opened the trans cover and it was sitting next to the switch. The pin is accessible behind the switch. Thanks for the clarification.
