Have you ever actually owned a 911? I've owned 6 and only one ('72T) leaked oil.

Drive around LA, OC or SD and it is uncanny how many air-cooled 911's you spot going down the road. That is the point of this being the hub.
Majority? I dont think so, they do have quite a number and probably per capita the most but far from the majority.

About the original question.... If Victory has the exact car with the exact color and options you want then fly out there and look at it. Forget their leak down numbers and forget doing a PPI with someone they recomend we all know they flat out lie and they are in kahoots with shops they choose to send cars to. I would rather burn my money or toss it in the ocean before I gave it to them for anything they had for sale.

Majority may not've been the right word, but the number of pre-89 911's that shipped to Calif is not that FAR from the majority.

Ed, where I agree there are a ton in Cali, i know having lived in SoCal. I dont think it approaches the "majority". Sort of a moot point since there is no way to know for sure.

Actually alot of the "good" Porsche 911's are usually here in CT and Westchester county NY. There are more collectible cars in this area..than you could ever imagine.

My previous post concerning the N. American Mercedes market being largly in California; Florida and New York represent the same numbers as Cali.
This is in no way an attempt to compare the pre 89 Porsche regional concentrations to Mercedes'. Just FYI

These are all pretty moot points since "good" has no actual meaning and what you think is good someone else might think is average. There are collectible cars in all kinds of places, not to mention these care are not exactly rare or "collectible" IMO.

IMO "collectible" has a connotation which is associated with rarity and IMO that’s not the case on any of these cars save for a few special models.
For the record Ed your car always looks impressive!
