Post Insurance for track event (non-race)

My carrier just informed me that I am not covered for track events. (A few months ago they said I was) Where can I get coverage. These events I go to are not races! They are high speed with many cars out on the track, corner workers, limited passing, but not races etc... Green Flag Driving Assoc. in case anyone knows them.

Help, I'm in CA if that matters <img src="graemlins/icon501.gif" border="0" alt="[icon501]" />

I have a $300/year supplementary policy for $20,000 worth of coverage for non-timed events through American Collectors Insurance.

Email me at jackolsen@attbi.com if you want more info.

AAA, my insurance carrier informed me of the same thing a couple weeks ago. I have searched for agreed upon value and DE insurance as well. I have found it is available providing you satisfy the following qualifications:
1. The vehicle you wish to insure is not your primary vehicle (there are at least one car per licensed driver in the household.)
2. The car satisfies an age requirement (usually between 15-25 years old.)
3. The car is driven a limited number of miles per year (generally no more than 2,500 - 5,000).

Unless you satisfy each of these requirements, it appears this is the rare case were money can't buy you anything. I wastold by more than one agent that the qualifications are a matter of legislation and the insurance companies may not provide you with coverage outside the scope of that legislation. If anyone finds such insurance for a daily driver I would also be interested.

There's collector's car insurance, which is a different thing, and then there's this.

My supplemental policy is in additional to my regular insurance. It has no mileage or age restrictions, and I don't think it requires a newer car in the household, since it provides no coverage for street driving, only track.

Thanks for the info Jack, I may contact them in the New Year and get a policy. For now, I cancelled this weekend. Not willing to chance my baby to some road warrior.

FYI, my insurance is with USAA. They said I was covered a few months back but now it's excluded, even if it's DE! Remember the other guy on the track who hits you is probably not covered either and that's the real problem.

I am bummed, speed at Laguna Seca with the top down is a true blast.
