Where? I know it depends on what is found once the car is apart but I spoke with several mechanics before settling on the guy that performed my work. They were all in the same ballpark. My car was in pretty good shape once it was apart but I still ended up around $9000. I'm going to pick it up this afternoon so I'll take a look at the itemized bill and let you know where the expense lies. Like I said above, if you do the work yourself I'm sure its substantially less.

I'd not limit myself to a $4K heads-only job on a 20+ year old car, but that's me.

915 transaxle, 3.2, can't beat 'em!

As others have said- a complete PPI per Pete's sticky above is a must.

I have an '84 with 166k on it. Runs like a top. It's my daily driver. 16k plus dollars seems a little high, unless the car is absolutely prestine.

Ive got an 84 also, can't beat the 3.2's but like the others stated...get the PPI.
