Default fuel pump question

Is it possible that the pressure just out of the fuel pump (not after the regulator) (car is an 84 targa) drops from the original value? Or the fuel pump works or not, there cannot be drop in fuel pressure. Which is possible?
thanks..

Yessir,...that can happen if the pump is very old, the relay or fuse is bad or wiring/connector issues are present. An alternator/ voltage regulator problem will do the same thing.

Further, if the in-tank filter screen is obstructed with dirt or rust, that drops fuel pressure as well.

Looks like you have some work to do,...

You're in Turkey? I was having BBQ with a bunch of people who moved here from Iran. They tell me the gas there is not the same as here. I guess it's cleaner burning here, and higher carbon emissions over there.

Anyhow, you would not be alone if your fuel pump suddenly had problems. Over the past two years I have heard of a half dozen cases of sudden fuel pump problems, including myself. Maybe there is something in the gas?

I dont think that the fuel could be the reason. Iran is very different from us.

I already ordered the fuel pump and my friend will bring it from US soon. But I am thinking to use the current pump until it fails completely.
