Post power windows

My 90 C4 Cab has a driver's window that stopped working. Passenger side is fine. Switch feels wrong..won't click up anymore. How do you remove the switch to test for power? Do you have to get into the door panel? Thanks for any advice.

jocdocnh,
I just tore into my driver's door last weekend for a similar problem. On my door, I could have pulled the switches out without removing the panel. They would have just gently pried out. The panel is really not that difficult to remove. The project is explained in detail in Wayne Dempsey's book "101 Projects for Your Porsche 911".

You may want to give a try to gently prying the switch. It's held in place by small metal clips that prvide a friction fit against the panel.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

carefully slip a small pocket screwdriver under the edge of the switch and pry outward. there's a plug on the back that pulls off. generally, if the switch feels funny, it's toast.
