yeah I thought it was too much of a handfull for a project car. Glad to see you realized that before you started to sink serious money into it...

Sounds like you made a careful, dispassionate judgement and starting with a solid roller sounds very good. It be great to see some pics of it when you get the chance!

Thanks guys. I just brought the shell to the metal recyclers. Sad kinda!

But, I was able to get about $4500 worth of parts off of it (the Fuchs alone paid for the car!).

Here is one pic of the new roller. Engine and trans overhaul first...

wow the new one definitely looks like a dooable project ...

So what did you do with the old engine ? did you keep it as a practice unit or did you sell it off ?

Hey, you probably already are doing this, but I notice that the roller had been "upgraded" in the past with, what looks to me, to be a late (87 - 89) reflector strip between the tailights. Apparently these are getting harder to come by in good shape these days, and as you likely will not want it on a proper early car, it may be another piece to sell.

along with that god aweful looking Turbo tail on a non turbo **** end ... WAY over done .. get good money for that too
