lots to chose from, depends on your usage, budget mechanical ability to I guess. Don't want to draw this into a huge debate . Good luck on your hunt.

Buy the best example that your budget allows leaving some room for unplanned expenses. Better off with a mechanically sound SC then a late Carrera in so-so condition.
Per Iceman, plenty to choose from and test drive as you can since each one is slightly different then the other.

G-50 vs. 915 debate: IMHO the G-50 is different but not necessarily that much "better". I still found the G-50 shifting somewhat vague with long throws (compared to a modern car) but gear engagement was smoother than the 915. The G-50 is heavier and adds the complexity/expense of a hydraulic clutch. It's also stronger and will handle more HP. I think it's a matter of taste and should not be used to eliminate the earlier cars from consideration. Drive both and see which you like best. Good luck in your search!
