Did your dad order the phone dials as an option or swapped post purchase?

I would recommend hunting down Fuchs with your asking price.

Get some Fuchs. I understand that phonies were on some 911s, but I never looked into why, how,or when they were. Otherwise looks like a decent car from the photos. Keep in mind it's a buyers market, you have a lot of competition on the sales page.
you may want to post a bottom line figure for prompt sale. Otherwise enjoy the car this summer season.

i think we are trying to be polite in saying your price is high .. the phonies also decrease the desirability of the car.

The Phone Dials were on the car from the factory as an option.

If you are interested he has told me the price is negotiable.

That's a great looking car. Nice to see a totally original example. I had those phone dials on an '85 I owned awhile back. Looks to me like someone will be getting a great car. Good luck with the sale.

Looks like a nice car, price is way too high, people won't even give you a bid, probably going to have to knock around $10k off. I don't think the low mileage is much of a selling point. If it were below 10k miles, maybe, then it's a collector car. But it's my understanding that cars of this vintage that aren't driven are the ones that are more prone to problems/leaks. Not that yours has any, it's just that if a new owner does start to drive it more, it could have issues.

Am i wrong here?

As for this car. I know for a fact that the maintenance has been up kept to a T. It is driven only during the summer, spring and fall and that is why the miles are so low.

There are no leaks...the engine is dry.

The most recent copy of Excellence (the one with the yellow 997.2 GT3 on the cover) shows this car in its current condition is in the proper range.

Your car appears to be a very nice example but, as others have said, it's priced awfully high in this market. I wouldn't put too much stock in the values published in Excellence. From what I've seen, they don't seem to be factoring in the current economic climate. The car's worth what someone is willing to pay for it, plain and simple.

Difficult time to sell such a nice example. Unfortunately low mileage examples are selling for around $20,000 and there is a decent supply of them.

If possible i would hold off for a year and you are much more likely to get your desired price.

What Logan says.....Excellence's market values are no real gauge of value in the real world.
