Vanity, Custom, whatever...it's just for fun....the car isn't driven much and none of my other cars have special plates. Given what I have recently spent getting it ready to show in the Historics Display area at the Parade yesterday, empty pockets and money pit are very appropriate!
Vanity or collector? If you go with collector plates you dont have to e-test as long as you dont let your tags expire. Do you have e-tests in the Springs?
It will be on a collector vehicle so possibly a "vanity, collector" plate. We don't have e-tests in the Springs but the plate will be transferring from IL to CO. Don't know if that will be a problem...
We don't have emissions tests in Colorado Springs any longer. When I test drove my car it had a cat bypass so we took it off anticipating an emissions test. After I bought the car I found out we didn't have to test it...oh well. Now that I think about it, I need to put that bad boy back!
Anyway, I'm pretty sure Jeff knows he's safe with custom plates.
I didn't get it either, so I had I had to enlist the help two of the smartest people I know, my wife and daughter...they came up with: FAST SL = fast as hell...dunno?

"Fast as hell" is what it means. But if the DMV asks, you can say the SL is for sports luxury.
Rusnak, it's not fast a-hole but that could be a good guess depending on the driver I guess.
for those of you in the Springs, At some point in September 2009 the state plans to bring e-tests back in the areas that had them. Only vehicles 75 and older will be able to get collector plates. So if your car is between 76 and 84 get your collector plates before september to be grandfathered in. otherwise its back to the PITA yearly test. Thats how the Colorado Revised Statutes explains it.
