Default rear targa seal best deal??

A company on ebay called FCP Groton is selling early Targa seals for my 1978 targa for $107.00 buy it now!! I was pricing this seal everywhere else for $258.
Has anyone used this seal?? This is the rear targa and window seal. The same seal for a 86 and up car is $71.00 will the later seal fit my car??
It sounds like it might be to good to be true since everyone else is offering the oem seal for $258?

it fastens to the front of the Targa bar but is situated behind the driver ,, you can see where the pins for the roof go in.

Never heard of them but it doesn't mean they are not good. at 100 bucks ou could replace the thing 3 times anyway . I say go for it and let us know how it goes ( I am sure John and I will be right behind you if it works )
Not sure about the later seal . I did here something about a piece may have to be trimmed off to match with the door seal depending on what door seal you have , but i am a bit hazy on that.

It's a legit vendor

Good price. I would buy 3 and replace every 10 years

Let us know how the fit is after installation.

Later seal will probably not fit, targa top design is different.

Today's technology allows seals to be duplicated a bit easier and in smaller quantities. I've seen and heard of poor quality pieces on the market for a variety of cars. Just because they reference a Porsche part number means nothing.

Having said that, I hope it works out, and as pointed out, you could change this a couple of times for less money.

I opened the box and the seal looks like it is of high quality and was sealed in packaging that had similar markings to the oem window switch I bought. When I find some free time I will go ahead with the install.
I will have to look for the diy instructions on the seal.

Great news .. try to take some before and after pics and let us know what glue you use .. I have used the 38 heavy duty weatherstip adhesive uib the past but i do ot like it. It is not easy to remove after as it hardens. The original glue you could peel off after 30 years . That is great if you do need to do it again ..
