FCP is a good vendor. Being in CT as I am, they are only 35min from my house. I always get everything next day from them so I try to order from them as much as possible. However, keep in mind OEM 'fit' and OEM part number reference does not mean you will get an OEM part. I ordered a rear windshield seal on that same assumption from them and got a 'URO' seal. FCP, like many many other distributors sell these seals. And guess what, they don't fit worth a damn!! Even with it opened and install attempted, FCP refunded my money and provided an OEM seal @ a big discounted rate, no questions asked. Scott the sales mgr there really went above and beyond for me. Not to say that all URO parts are crap, I've used a few of their DME relays and voltage regulators with success. Just stay away from the 911 rear window seal, it's not even close.

Oh yeah use 'woodweld' glue, you can get it from homedepot or any other hardware store.

My experience is that Weldwood adhesive does not hold up well in heat.

Best of luck with the installation. I recall years ago how much of an incredible PITA it is to replace those rear Targa windows. Only the facotry guys had the level of proficiency to put them in perfectly. You should document it thoroughly for the Rennlist!

it is the targa bar seal he is doing . Should be pretty straight forward. i want to do it to but i wont do it until I find a non permanant glue that can be removed easily.

I wait to see the results of this part. I had about an inch of water in my passenger side the other day. The water runs down the seal till it gets to the window. It then flows forward instead of into the hollow part of the seal. I need to replace the side seals on the top to complement this seal. I am working on a silicone fix to try and hold me over for a while. I also need to adjust my windows so they don't raise as high.

The problem I have with URO is that they are Chinese products from what I know and I don't think I have ever bought anything that was made in China that didn't break with the exception of socks and T-shirts. I will be relying on your assessment of this product otherwise I will spend the $260 if the silicone does not succeed.

The water runs down the channel behind the Targa top and when it gets to the thick part of the seal at the corner of the window, it would flow to the right and behind the glass rather than to the left and down the thick part which is hollow and suppose to drain near the bottom of the door. The tubing is not clogged up either. I added a little more silicone but have not tested it yet.

Meant to say i use 3m weatherstripping and FCP Groton... It has been fine.

I have been to busy to tackle the install! I hope to possibly tackle this chore over the weekend.
The weather has been quite spotty recently and we have had more rain than sun so I have not been as tempted to use the car.

Finally I replaced the seal!! I used 3m weatherstrip adheasive. This was an easy process it seems that the fit and finish was a 90% fit as there was some extra material between the pin holes but the hardest part was popping out the 4 plastic pins on the corners. I just pulled the old strip off, removed the debris and laid down the glue and replaced the seal. I replaced the pins pushed all over the seal and put the top back on. I do have a fiberglass targa top. This is worth it because the gray seals are gone ant the car is starting to look better already!
