I've gotten so many different answers as to the proper way to hone Nikisil cylinders. If anyone has done this themselves, what was your procedure? I have a brush/ball hone that looks to be perfect for the job.

Everything I have heard/read says you can not hone them. There were a set of cylinders for sale on our local web-site which said 'the previous owner thought it would be a good idea to hone them'...
Anybody out there done this?

over the years, i've wet honed them with a brush hone, scuffed them with scotchbrite pads, and left them alone, all with the same good results. as long as the cylinder is in good condition and round,(checked with a dial bore gauge) and soft, cast rings are used (goetze), chances are good that there won't be excessive smoking.
