Mid-life crisis! Brought home a twenty year old German mistress.
Brought home a twenty year old yesterday. No longer "between Porsches."
1989 Carrera, Guards Red, ~67k miles and its a Euro. Long list of mod$ - "Big Reds" (actually not sure if which of the many "reds" they are), 17" turbo twists, SSI headers, Dansk muffler, Autothority chip, R134a converted and upgraded A/C, turbo-tie rods and bump-steer kit.
The perfect blend between my previous 911's - an 85 daily driver and a 993 garage queen. I'm stoked!!! I let my Rennlist membership lapse, looks like it's time to re-up.

Thank guys! Tom, I believe the caps are aftermarket and they were apparently not inexpensive. Actually, I haven't figured out if the _wheels_ are actual Porsche or aftermarket.

I think I'm in love with your mistress. Would it be cheating if I spent some time with your mistress considering your relationship with her is already suspect...LOL.
Nice car and welcome back!

I think the car is a beauty. But, please change the wheels to a proper torsion bar 911 offset, it will look even better!

Looks like a beauty.
I refer to my porsches as my mistresses also. I sold my 85 911 in 1995 when starting a business and bought back when the guy sold to buy a newer 911 turbo. when the car was returned to the garage, my wife's response was, "wel... the B!+(h is back."
enjoy

Maybe not ice, but I would guess that a pair of 951 8" Fuchs would clear in the front, with 930 9's in the back. That's what I have on my car, with 993 C2S brakes up front (these are smaller than big regs, only the C4s had the turbo brakes). It's hard to tell from just the one picture, but it looks like his brakes might be Boxster monoblocks with a rotor approximately 930 sized... maybe not.
For what it's worth Derrick, I don't usually like those twists on mid year cars, but the stance and color combo of yours looks pretty nice in my opinion. I just worry a little about pushing a car hard that has wheel adaptors. Not to say that I wouldn't do it, but it does make me a little nervous.

Re: wheel adaptors and twists
Ryan,
When you say wheel adaptors, do you mean spacers for the wheels or mounting bracket trickery for the brake calipers? I didn't see any spacers between the wheels and the hubs, but haven't had the wheels off to see how the brake calipers are mounted.
I'm actually with you on the turbo twists on older cars. I remember thinking that they didn't look right when I saw a 3.2 Carrera with twists at a track day. (blue car in smaller pic). However, I love the look of 17" wheels on these cars. The new 17" fuchs that folks are making are awesome, and my previous car had 17" Cup II's (replicas) on it when I bought it. It is the black car in the bigger pic. If you look closely you can see a grey spot above the driver's front wheel where I cracked the paint rolling the fender lips. Good thing the lips on the red car are very aggressively rolled.
For me, the twists on the red car work very well with the overall look.

Derrick, I was talking about the wheels. It sounds like you have aftermarket twists, that are made with the proper early offset. Should be nothing really wrong with that, other than that they are probably a little on the heavy side. Someone once told me that all the 17" twists in this style are aftermarket, but I'm not positive on that. I know there are some factory Boxster twists, but they really don't look that close in style.
I think the caliper adaptors are pretty common on the narrow body cars.
