Hey Loren that thing looks pretty cool . I have always considered the Blackberry the real tool of business people and the Iphone a toy pf the poseur group. This may change my mind somewhat.
I realize that this may be considered the "ghetto Dyno " for lack o a better phrase but how does it compare to a real dyno run ? I would say if it is even within 5% it would be clode enough given dyno runs can vary that much on their own.

"but how does it compare to a real dyno run ?"
It's very close to the actual Porsche factory numbers, i.e. less than 5%
variation:
Porsche Workshop Manual - WKD 482 020 Vol. 1, Pg 0.2; HP - 214
Porsche Technical Spec Book - WKD 423 020, Pg 22a; HP - 217
Actually using this device versus an actual dyno provides better overall data, i.e. the G force,
for determining how the overall car performs whether on the street or track, where the
dyno doesn't account for various vehicle weights.
Here's one of many "know-it-all" from the "dark side" with many mods
using the same app where the max HP was 225 (15% loss):

I hope people do not start texting me regarding business. My criteria for a phone up to now is "whichever one does not play little girl music when someone calls me". If I have to start typing on little birdseeds, that might bring out the dark side of my personality.

I wouldnt call an iPhone a poser phone compared to a BlackBerry, Ive used both and I much rather have the iPhone.
You cant dismiss the accelerometer, it has an accuracy of less than .02 seconds according to some tech article I read.
So, if you ran on a drag strip and used the "dynolicous" app, you might run a 13.98 but the phone may say 14.00 or 13.96...

Well sounds like a solid app for sure
As far as BB vs I phone goes each will have there fans tippy. I spend a great deal of time managing clients and email is a huge part of my day . the tactile feel of the BB is for me vs the virtual keyboard.
If you want to download video all day , cruise the internet and do cool thigs with pics the I phone is the way to go .
But as a business tool sending email and optimixing data packets I find the BB wins hands down. That is why Iphone plays in the consumer market and BB plays in the biz market. bbut enough Hijack here. That does sound like a killer app and could really hurt dyno business fro some.
Thanks for the info Loren

Lorenfb,
Does the system output an electronic file that could be synched in some way with a datalog from, say, a Megasquirt? If so, that would be a boon to tuning, providing endless hours of "dyno tuning time" for the cost of the phone and app.

No, it's totally limited from a data output/syncing.
You know one doesn't need an iPhone and the costly ATT monthly,
just buy/use the lastest iPod (iTouch) which doesn't have the phone
capability but all the others, e.g. wIfI, videos, music, and many neat apps.

Actually the iTouch came after the iPhone. Thought the iPhone was neat
but didn't want to pay the ATT premium for cell service. So waited and the
iTouch came. Also, like Win Mobile phones because of the apps available
at Handango.com and don't need "push" email (silence is golden).

oh man!!! Now I have no excuse not to go back to the iStore.
The last time I went there, I couldn't leave until I bought something that looks like a Dorito and plays music. I still don't use it because it sounds funny on my big speakers, but those sales people are so dang good. I have been immune to the lure of the iPhone because of my vendetta against Cingular Wireless (which bought AT&T), and the fact that I am stuck with another year on my TMobile contract.
I'm telling you, by next year you will step foot in the iStore and they will inject some iDevice in your epidermis and you'll leave there half man, half machine.
