I posted this car earlier.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=455859
My purpose would be a weekender with 3-5 trackdays per year. I'm an ok wrench but car would be maintained by my mechanic. I may fly for a PPI soon.
Can anyone offer wisdom or insight into the pricing and it's value?

It all depends on what it looks like up close and how the thing is executed. By his own admission, it is a 10ft. car. But, I believe it is a new paintjob-so why isn't it better than that?
Why not go with a decent Carrera for $15-18K, and spend the other $5K on improvements for the track?

It really comes down to what you want. It's the cheapest RSR clone I have seen in a long time. Still a work in progress so expect to spend some money to finish car.

I realize this car isn't finished because I would do it a little differently plus making the interior perfect would be on the to-do list.
From Franz Blam who built the engine (notes by seller)...
Motorcraft 3 coil crankfire ignition (It is actually a Clewett not a Motorcraft, I think Clewett uses some Motorcraft coils??)
Early 911s Cam grind
Updated tensioners
Ported, polished
Knife ground racing crank (3.2)
Titanium rods and Racing pistons
9.9:1 compression
Early 911 exhaust (SSI stainless)
New PMO carbs - 40mm (36mm venturies in place now) (they are actually 46mm I believe)
Rebuilt 915 trans - 7:31 ring and pinion
New Sachs clutch
Stainless break lines
Bilstiens all around
Short shift - rebuilt linkage
Sanden AC Conversion
Any thoughts?

I agree with pu911, if it's not rusty it seems like a bargain to me! The price is pretty low for it not to have sold, so it may not present in person as well as the pictures do. It's a shame about those horrible seat covers, and the lack of attention to detail in the engine compartment. That is all stuff that can be sorted out with some TLC....if the foundation is really there. I'm not looking for one of those right now, but that price even makes me wonder what it would look like in my garage

Looks to be a very nice G50 Targa over on Pelican for 12K. Just sayin'.
I would have to go visit the orange car in person. If the engine and mechanicals are good, and there is no trace of rust, you may be onto something. Road trips are fun, and you will know for sure either way that you are doing the right thing.
Let me tell you, I am sucker for that kind of car, and most are selling for a lot more. Finishing someone else's project is often a good way to go, but I have driven 10 hours or better more than once, only to find out that the seller was either optimistic or an out and out scoundrel.
When are we going ?
