This is original engine (never rebuilt) and catalytic convertor. Cat has got to be completely gone. No engine mod’s.

I think it’s amazing a 25 year old car can pass California’s stringent dyno smog test with such good results.

Results:

15mph
RPM 1507
%CO2 15.2
%02 0.3
HC(PPM) Meas = 80 Max = 138
CO(%) Meas = 0.27 Max = 0.85
NO(PPM) Meas = 534 Max = 1148

25 mph
RPM 2439
%CO2 15.1
%02 0.3
HC(PPM) Meas = 77 Max = 113
CO(%) Meas = 0.35 Max = 0.65
NO(PPM) Meas = 746 Max = 978

Maintenance history:
Air filter – 3K miles
Oil – 8K miles
Valve adjust – 10K miles
Plugs - 17K miles
O2 sensor – 40K miles
Dist. cap/rotor – 45K miles

Prep:
1 tank each of Techron/Shell-V fuel cleaner
200+ mile trip to Napa wine country day before
Ambient temp. 65F
Fuel: Shell 89 octane (w/nitrogen)

Mine is an 83SC with 106k and never has it had a problem passing. Now I know I can look forward to the next 90k...I'll probably die before the car does.
