Hi Wesso and welcome to the forum.
I had the same two questions when I was driving my 911 home.
Since you have had to open the fuel lid, I assume you have had to add fuel as well.
I found that the only way to keep the auto shutoff on the pump from driving me nuts is to invert the pump nozzle before inserting it.
BTW - if nobody else has mentioned it, there is the requirement of car pics from new members.
You can't go keeping you new beauty all to yerself now. :-)

Oh, and when its time to adjust that loose belt in the engine....don't look for an adjustment nut.
You have to take some washers out/in to adjust the diameter of the pulley. Yep, another one that took hours for me to figure out before getting my manual.
