Default Removing windscreens on a '72 2.4s

Hi all!
My normal loiter is the 993 forum , but a friend of mine with the above car is going to remove / replace his front and rear windscreens on his 911 in the near future.

If anyone had an online DIY , it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Not too hard. Done it myself with my 72 2.4 E. Make sure the molding in the middle of the gasket is WELL seated. You don't want to try to put this in after the window is in. Lubricate the gasket and window frame. Put a strong cord in the lip. Have someone out side pushing and pull the windows in slowly. The cord pull s the lip over the edge of tge frame.

Absolutely don't allow the aluminum trim pieces to get bent or it will become an impossible job. It takes at least two people to do this job. Use Rueglide (rubber lubricant commonly used for mounting tires) to help you along.

Centering it correctly FIRST is paramount to getting this in correctly. If you're mistakenly off center it will never seal up correctly in the upper corners. Take your time, and be willing to stop and start over again if you think you aren't getting there.

ALWAYS use new rubber when reinstalling a new windscreen.

Rear windows are a separate challenge, but somewhat similar to the fronts.

Good luck!!
