Is there a DIY with good pictures/graphics on the site explaining the procedure to lower a 911SC?
I would like to replace the rear spring plate inner and outer bushings at the same time if this possible. Is there detail for this out there also?

At present it is at OEM ride height. I have owned the car since 1987 and never liked the height...but being retired now i would like to tackle the job with some guidance!!! Any help or referrals to posts would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

What is this thing referred to as a "book"? I know of no such evil device, I am only familiar with that technological savior from boredom known as the "internet".
Kidding of course, as those books are good references I'm sure, I've just been scouring the threads on all of the Porsche forums and have yet to come up with a write-up including pics.

I am just curious , what is the ride height currently ? if you were to measure all 4 corners from the ground to the fender edge through the centre of the wheel ?

Check out Elephant Racing's website for the rear springplate bushings. I've been waiting for good weather and a family-free weekend to work on my front suspension.

I think you'll be best off buying the Bentley manual for various reasons. The 911SC manual shows how to remove the suspension, and I believe how to use an angle finder to index the rear torsion bars. The inner and outer splines of the torsion bar can be clocked so that you have increments of a degree. Fine adjustment can be done with the spring plate itself.

The guy who owned my 911 before me had it lowered by a mechanic from Vasek Polak's race team, who moved to Arcata or something like that. He did such a masterful job setting up the suspension I'm not going to change anything, just maintain it.

There are tons of threads dealing with this. Here is a concise how-to on changing torsion bars, it all applies to lowering-just refer to "setting ride height" section. I think Wayne's 101 projects book covers it too, and Bentley does too, which are probably the Amazon links above, which I didn't click.

I just lowered my 911SC in the past month and replaced the bushings.

I used the bentley book, 101 projects, and found a few tech articles on pelican to be very helpful.
