A bit over a grand for the seat, brackets and slider. There's a recession on, so I conceded to my wife and just bought the one seat for now. HOWEVER...the mis-match will probably drive me to action soon. I'm gonna post pics in a minute.

Well, this was a fairly painless project. I didn't want to cut the seat beds out, as I would like to keep the car as stock as possible, in case I ever want to go Concours..........yeah, right!

At any rate, the B-K side brackets were custom tailored to this seat and this car, they in turn bolt to the Recaro dual sliders which bolted to the bed rails. All the accessories came with new hardware, so no trips to the hardware store.

I took out the rest of the sound deadening behind the DME box. It only took about 20 minutes with a good scraper. Then a wire brush on the drill, then some POR-15 Chassis Black last night.

And the finished product. Maybe a 1/2" higher under my butt, and a bit higher, but more support under my thighs...a better position, IMO. The seat back is taller than the SRD, and I've got white and red logos, so not a great match, which will probably gnaw at me.

If you look at the last pic, you'll see I had a big Momo filler cushion on the old seat, which I don't need now. The seat feels great. I've got a NOS Recaro pneumatic lumbar support that I'll pull out of the old and put in this seat, and I'm good to go. Let's call this a wrap!

HA HA - with the red and white logos you'll end up ordering the 2nd seat in less then 60 days.

Ed, I think the "mismatch" of the seats is very purposeful looking. I like the look because it accentuates the driver and sends a subtle message of form following function.

Hey Ed,
Do you still have the SPG XL in Ruby?
Do you think that two will fit in her OK?
Also, when you are on a long drive, it it a comfortable seat?

I want two for my car but my wife says that they wouldn't be comfortable enough.

What do you think??

I do, and 2 would fit. It is very comfortable, but I suppose that is subjective. There are enough accessory pads to go with them, that I think anyone would line them. You'd only give up the reclining feature.

I'm not sure I've followed this older thread. Ed, did you have 2 matching Sparco seats and (at the time) replace just the driver's(as this thread goes)?
I guess my question is, at the present time, have you replaced the pass. seat with a Recaro? and, Do you have two matching Sparco seats laying around you may want out of your way?

I've got a Recaro Speed/SRD in the passenger side still. I've been toyimg with changing that seat too. I'd have a set for sale if I do this.
