Default 82 SC passanger window s l o w

Now that I have the battery issue solved, another problem encountered has been the passanger window. The driver's window works beautifully, however the pax side moves very slow. Was going to have the track replaced but when I took the car out four days ago, it was warm out (Northern CA is not getting any water and the wx has been like Palm Springs) and the window worked fine. When it cooled off, it returned to it's very slow operation. Silicon lubricant here or a more serious take apart?

hmmm ..wonder if this has anything to do with bat. I would suspect the motor is dying, as the resistance builds it slows. i would take the motor off and see how it moves manually, compare it to the other side.

Thanks Ice. When the car warmed up outside, the (pax) window worked well. It appears that when it is cold, it jams up. However, this is not the case with the driver's window. My mechanic indicated the fabric "rail" is tight and needs replacing, but in the interim, silicon lube would allow for better action. I don't think the batt is problamatic here.

no i just meant if the motor got jammed it could have drained the bat. He may be right as I had similar issues with my car and the slider. For me I loosened it all and redid it and it worked fine. Could you swap over the motors worse case and see ?

I read on the forums to quirt some graphite powder in the rails. It worked for me and the windows now move faster.

Those rails probably have old caked on grease on them. I cleaned mine & relubed them & they work great now.

Does cleaning the rails involve removing the door panel, or are we talking about the upper portion? I believe the motor works fine as a few days ago I was out in the sunshine with the car and the window work smoothly and fast. The colder temps seem to constrict the movement, only this occurs on the pax side, not drivers.

It definitely sounds like the grease has gone rancid and needs to be cleaned out. The Bentley manual outlines the door disassembly procedure.

I had some rattling in my window regulator, so I used some dental floss, the tape kind, and wound it around the pivots. The rattles are completely gone now.

The window regulator alignment is also important. If the motor or regulator has worked it's way loose, then that will also slow down the window and cause it to jam.
