Default Oil pressure tester

I'm looking for a oil pressure tester to verify my dash board readings. The big question is where to plug the tester in. I would think removing the sending unit at the fan and use a adapter, but I don't know if an adapter is available, the common kits don't have one that big. Would the plug at the end of the cam tower (fly wheel end of engine) be to far out of the oil circuit to give a accurate reading to compare to the dash gage. Or where / how would I plug the tester in to get a good reading.

i am sure plugging in at the test area should work. But why are you suspecting the sender ? This has a renundant system does it not ? a pressure reading and a backup idiot light that will come on if the pressure is dangerously low.
Whay are you concerned about your pressure ?

My dash gage is reading over 140 psi @2000+ rpm's at start up, once warmed up I'm looking at 60+ psi @ around 3200 rpm's. I think the relief piston may be sticking.

well okay .. I didn't understand any of that since our cars don't read out that way. But i would expect the oil pressure to be significantly higher on start up of a cold engine and as the oil thinned out it would be lower.

On a cold engine start my oil pressure practically pegs running 20w50, but when the engine is hot and idling I sit at about 2 bar. Not a biggie for me

'74 911, the sender is calibrated to 10 bar, the gage reads 140 psi, at cold start up a little better than 2000 rpm's the gage is pegged out, I've never noticed this before.

Maybe you need someone with an early 911 with the same read out to compare . Sounds like 10 bar would be high. think mine pegs out at 5 bar so i would be little help.
