Post is my thermastat bad.....

yester day i take my 73 911 with front fender oil cooler out for a drive. i do not have the fan option. traffic was slow on the freeway so i get off and street traffic is stop and go all the way home. it was about 85 out. my car normally runs around 185 or so. i look at the gauge and its reading a little over 210 and is inch up slowly. so today i ask a tech whats up. he thinks it may be the termastat that leads to the front cooler. so i fire the car up let it warm till it hits around 185. i feel the lines leading to the front and they both feel cold. so i figure the thermastat is bad, i remove it. so i try to test it myself. i blow in one end and i can feal air coming out all the hole's, it is very slight though. do you guys think the termastat is bad or did i just waste about 2 hours......

You might try pulling it apart and cleaning it. This worked for me. I found that the plunger in side had stuck, cleaned and now it works.
