Default '85 911 Production Numbers Question

Hey all...

looking to confirm or deny a claim from a car owner on a car that I'm looking at.

The vehicle.... 1985 911 Carrera Cabriolet "Factory Wide Body" Non Turbo. These are his words. I can't find anything that confirms that there was a 'factory wide body non turbo' produced in 1985. I found information that there were some factory wide body non turbo Cab's produced in '86...but not '85.

Also...he is stating that there were only 164 of these made.

So..the question.... Was there a Factory Wide Body Cab 911 produced by Porsche in 1985. and, if so, is there a way to verify the production numbers??

Thanks

Very difficult as the widebody did not have it's own model designation, it was listed by Porsche as an option and it is very difficult to get info on how many of each option were built ( imagine the matrix for all the options ) . I am not even sure if such numbers exist.

Yes they made them in '85. Option #491. I'm almost certain......ahhh maybe. Look to see if the option sticker is still under hood. Go to Yahoo groups and type in Porsche TL or Turbo Look. This is all these people write about on their group page. You can join for free.
