Thanks Doug!
I wish Loren could beat me up on my other thread about the AFM.
I was hoping he was correct in that my AFM is not faulty but it apears it is: https://rennlist.com/forums/911-foru...le-only-2.html

I'm spending the night in Mojave @ the beautiful Motel 6....I'm going to be sliding around the Streets of Willow track this weekend with the POC! That's the only safe place to slide around. Well, maybe Palomar Mtn on some weekend days. Speaking of which, a run is set for 3/7, with lunch in Temecula afterward.

Jim, there is a guy on Pelican named Hugo I think. Ischmitz or something like that. I'd IM him and run this whole thing by him. See what he says.
You also can try kissing Loren's ring, but who knows if some kernel of wisdom will spring forth? I'd say your chances of that are running 10 to 1 lately.

Oh man, thank you so much! That is freakin awesome!
No need to worry at this point I am so humbled I really don't care if the Devil himself verifies my findings.
I just visited Loren's site and read his "AFM Voltage Output Comparison" It appears to confirm that my AFM is in fact toast. He stated most AFM's can last 200K well mine is about 185K so just short of the 200K mark.
In my findings I used the stat marks as my "degrees" as he has on his diagram. I am please that 4-5 volts DVM appears to be the normal max so the spikes of 7 & 6 are definitely out of range maybe aka "Flat Spots" but what worries me is the "0" degrees at 0.56 volts, according to his graph it is supposed to be 0.25 volts and my WOT should be 4.55+/- volts, mine is at 2.14.
I just realized I hi-Jacked my own thread, Doh

Hugo will help. I also think Steve Wong knows far more about this than he is given credit for.
Edit: I forgot about this guy also. He repairs ECUs but he might also know about AFMs. His stuff comes with a 5 year warranty. I bought a dme from him. It was very nicely done.

You can also call Gabe at Strasse. Smith Volvo will be able to transfer you or give you the number to Strasse.

If you are still stuck after that, I'll figure something out.
There is plenty of help out there, and helpful people.

I think you've already read this one: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showt...ght=ZOANAS+AFM
those vacuum leaks can be devilishly hard to find. See #36.

jeeezzusss. Took me long enough to finally find the link I was looking for. Here it is, look for the section "Air Flow Meter" and "Refurbishing your AFM"
