He had a few comments. The 914's were 6's, assembled elsewhere and brought in to have the engines put in. The orange car with the blue wheels was a factory loaner, out on lunch. The guy leaning on the targa was the tour guide. Tks for the tks, I knew as soon as I saw them where they belonged!

My dad got an orange colored '73 targa that started this sickness. I see some orange targas in one of the pictures that look like they are ready for delivery. Possibly one went to South Jersey? What are the odds? Very cool pix!

Pretty wild. I bet most of the factory assemblers were non-German, possibly Bulgarian. Try to get close to most factories today with a camera! Most won't even let your cell phone in with its crappy camera.

I love the assembly line pics the most.
You don't get pics like these even in the fancy coffeetable books.
If my last name were "Porsche" or "Piech" I think I'd work on the factoy floor and never step foot in a boardroom.
