I have a valve adjustment question. My car is due for it's 2 year and/or 15,000 mile service. I've only put 5,000 miles on in the last two year time period. I don't do my own work, but I take my car to an independent Porsche mechanic. I had the valve adjustment done 2 years ago. So do I have it done again or wait until I put on more mile ledge? The car is a 1987 with 119,000 miles. I had the 120,000 mile service done 2 years ago. thanks,

I go by miles for the valve adjustment and do it at !5,000 mi increments. Time is what I do for oil, tranny lube, etc. The exception would be premature leaks or an anomaly that has ocurred.

You should be OK. An exception to the mileage "rule" is when a car is used for many short trips, and rarely reaches full temperature or gets to stretch its legs on the Interstate. If your car reaches full operating temperature during many of its drives, and there's no cover leakage, you should be fine.
