Question Charge light Diode

I thought I posted this before but I cant find it now. So if this is a repeat I apologise. I discovered I have a blown diode for the alternator charge light, behind the guages. that part is NLA. Do I need it? What should I do? I just got the alternator rebuilt and dont want to blow it again.

Any suggestions?

You may be able to buy one at an electronics outfit. especially if it has markings on it.

a diode in general only allws current flow to go one way . Typically it is used in that circuit to light the bulb on the dash when the current starts to flow from the battery to the alternator, instead of the alternator to the battery , indicating a dead alternator and battery drain is occuring.
