Default oil for 915

Hi
I am sure I have read somewhere that there is a specific oil recommended for 915 gearbox. Can anyone help?
Thanks

Swepco dino-style is what most folks use (and many a guru recommends). I've heard that one should not use a synth as its "slipperiness" hinders the synchros from operating as they should. FWIW, I've used only Swepco in my 915 at every gear-oil change and she always behaves superbly, both on street and track.

You will only need to use the LSD additive if you hear or notice "chatter". I have never had to add it to Swepco 201 in the past.

My 915 has LSD and I've never used an additive to my Swepco. FWIW, I just tried Swepco's 90w/140 (can't remember what swepco number that is). It's good stuff, largely same as the 201 I typically use, but seems a bit too thick when the tranny is anything short of "track-temp hot." The 201 is great stuff IMHO.

I had my 915 partially rebuilt by some guy here in Seattle... John Walker or something like that. He seemed to think plain old Kendall gear oil was good enough.
