Here is a pair of front set of brake calipers from a 1979 911 turbo (930) to grab on eBay.
Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=200282592248
These are the ultimate PCA Driver's Ed (DE) brakes. I was going to mount these on my 1979 Porsche 911 SC for DE event but decided to it would be more brake than I really need.
These brakes would suit SCCA, PCA and vintage racing cars.
These calipers are used and could use some cleaning and painting (if you are into shiny stuff) but are in great working conditions. They were working fine when they came off the 911 turbo this summer.
I also have a set of front rotors from the same car, which I offer as a bonus. They are the 78-80 type with removable offset hub (which I don't have). They will fit a narrow body 911 (74-89) hub as is. Condition is fair, they have some heat cracks around the holes (quite commun) and thickness is still 30.08mm (out of 32mm for a new set).
The kit (calipers + rotors) will make a perfect bolt-on big brake upgrade for 911 from 74 to 89.
I will put a very low starting price, considering these calipers retails for more than 1,700$ new, if you can find any!
Shipping will be via Canada Post - USPS. Calipers will ship for 50$ and rotors for 70$, any where in North America.
Contact me at wfbal@yahoo.ca if you need additional information or a shipping quote for any where outside North America.

You better use some of the money you make on these to pay for a membership here....you can't post for sale stuff on here, from what I remember, unless you're a paid member.

If memory serves, you need adapters/mods for the rear when you put Turbo brakes on an earlier car.
In the front, it's the cost of replacement rotors that kills you. When I used my PCA discount coupon years ago, I think it was over $400/pair for the fronts. Now it's $350-400 for each rotor -- and that's before you work out a custom hat solution.

Granted my car is light, but it is fast and I've gone through many sets of pads.
It's sort of a PITA changing front rotors on an early 911, since you have to deal with the wheel bearings (unlike on my other Porsches), so having long service intervals is really nice.
Highly recommended!
