Default Lift a 911C4 (like the Rally 959)

Has anyone done this? I have a 996 c2 I use as a DD in Houston, moving to Canada and can't kick the Porsche habit.

Looking to buy a high snow friendly 4 wheel drive vehicle for 2 years.

Remembering the 959 rally days, I wondered if anyone ever jacked up a C4 about 2-3 inches. Cayenne isn't an option, don't like them.

Raising that car requires some custom parts such as front & rear uprights, struts. shocks, and axles.

Porsche never sold those one-off items outside the factory so this would be very expensive to do.

Where in Canada are you moving too? You don't need 4 wheel drive or a raised car, just get some winter tires and use your brain when driving and you will be fine. For example I drive a 98 civic in the winter and it does me just fine.

Depends where in Canada, there are places where snow accumulates and a raised vehicle can come in handy. AWD/4WD is a plus, helps you go but doesn't help you stop.

I agree...keep the C2. I've driven my Boxsters through winter with just good winter tires. They're better than you think.

If you're going someplace where snow comes in dumpings, maybe add a Subaru for the extreme weather and drive the C2 the other 85% of the time?

hmmmm... maybe try Blizzaks and adjustable coilovers?

I thought about a C4 rally car once but couldn't find the parts.

Park the Porsche and get one of these for the winter:

I've never been able to get it stuck and trust me, I've tried!

You should also post in the 964, 993, 996, and 997 forums to talk to the folks that are driving the AWD 911's.
