Default A New Record!

21 Degrees F w/ the top down on my commute this morning folks! After my face went numb it didn't hurt so bad at triple digits...

I have a shot tomorrow, it's supposed to be 20 overnight, and was supposed to be 23 this morning, so I might get it down to 18 if I'm lucky.

Good grief - that's cold! I closed my sunroof a few days ago because it was 68 outside!

Big deal. My roof is down and it is 17 degrees farenheit or -8 here. Oh....well...I'm not actually driving the car in that temperature. But never mind. The roof is down and the car is sitting in the garage trying to keep warm...lol

Brrrr !

I once drove the Thing with the top down on a 40 degree morning without heat in NY 15 years ago.
It was sunny out and I forgot about the wind chill factor.
After a 30 minute 65 MPH drive my lips were blue and my hands were stuck to the steering wheel.

Never again...

That's what driving with the top down in temps like these can do to you!

It's just training guys. We have a Fun Run on Cape Cod this weekend & I can't let the gang down.

Seriously though, when I bought the car 4 years ago (!!!) I was determined to appreciate it every day I could. This helps me feel like I'm living life to its fullest potential is all.

Just don't stop too long for a traffic light, or they will have to peel your cold dead fingers off of the steering wheel!

I can safely say my cabriolet has yet to see 21ºF yet,--but I'm always open to testing! I think it got below freezing once but only slightly. You are truly a Manly Man to tolerate such conditions,--particularly when that vintage cabriolet probably didn't even have seat heat!

Fred - Just do what I do, crank up the heater! It sure feels good when I drive the cab with the top down in the dead of winter. Btw, you can also wear a full face helmet when you go for those sub freezing temperatures.

I traded the full-face for an open face Simpson awhile back, so no-go on that one.

I'm running late today, so no such luck on the 2nd record...

Manly-man? Guffaw!

I was going to try and break the record today. Funny thing is that it was not the cold in my face I was worried about. It was the snow in my teeth.
