Iceman!!!!

Looks like you got the hockey stick removed (I haven't been on the site much this last 9 months or so, just remember your old Avitar).

I think it does look a bit more updated. Now I'm wondering what it would look like with these wheels (on my old 993), but in a 17" size. Man I loved those wheels with the machined lips.

I'd be curious to see if Fuchs will really produce a wheel with the proper offsets for torsion bar 911's.. I don't doubt they'll do them with large offsets, but the added tooling costs for a limited (and shrinking by the year) market in a crummy economy is probably not a reality. If that is the case, having no "dish" to the wheels will look plain silly on our cars.

Do a searc on Jeff Alton over on Pelican, and you'll find the best thing in wheels to come down our path in an awfully long time. And, the fact that they are 3 pc (note: w/blind fasteners) is a pluis in that they are repairable-especially important for track cars and those driven on crummy roads.

And, the first sets should be shipping next month!

Yeah Bob I put the hockey stick Avatar on hiatus for my Paul Newman memmorial Avater. Now the car is off the road , but the hockey stick will be back in the spring. :-)

I am not sure how those wheels would look on an older car . Why not just bolt em on and post a pic / or do some creative photoshop.

I am still a huge fan of the old RUF style wheels on our older cars. If I were going to replace my Fuchs, I think that would be the way to go. I don't want to update my car, I just want it to look perfect as it was meant to be back then.

My project for this " off season" is actually wheels. Just picked up my 3rd set , finally got some Fuchs, so i will be backdating my car to original.

My wife asked how many wheels do you need ? I replied , how many shoes do you need ?

always did love this sofa :-)

OOOOOOOHHHHH.... Ruf wheels, those would look great!

As far as bolting on the boxster wheels...I'm not too proud to say I can be pretty lazy.

Actually if it were warmer I would consider it...It only got up to 50 today...did I mention that I have become a weather wimp too.

If it warms up and I don't have a tee time and there is no good football game on, I may slap them on for a picture this coming weekend, or maybe not.

I thought this would be a good thread to give everyone another opportunity to post their Porsche **** pics. I guess too many of us are married to our Fuchs.

Save your effort-look at some of the wheel pic threads on Pelican, and I'm sure you'll find some examples-but they won't be pretty. Also, unless you've got the proper spacers, you won't be able to bolt them on.

I agree-the RUF's are timeless and good-looking as well.

December 2008 Excellence magazine, red Ruf CTR...I want those wheels (hell I want the car)....although I might prefer machined lips rather than polished...but those are great.

Even my wife came out of the restroom holding the magazine (and she isn't a avid restroom reader like I am), and said....I WANT THAT CAR....well sh&t, I would like that one too!!!

Here are some photos of 17" Boxster twists from Wheel Enhancement's website on impact era 911s.

These are earlier versions than your wheels but the photos give you a decent idea what they would look like.

Not my cup of tea, and I also have an extra set sitting in my garage and wish that I could find a new home.

I'm wondering what the turbo style (the better looking ones) like the one in my avitar would look like. I sortof like the look of those in the middle picture above, but I don't care for those specific twist style wheels. They do may the car a bit more updated.

But those Ruf wheels...I've got to get over those.....

Sorry, the link did not work.

It was a picture on the gallery section of GMP Performance, Red late 80's 911 Targa, wide body conversion.

Edgy01, I guess you're not talking about our 17" Fuchs-style wheels, although it sounds like that from the description!

Whereas I'm pretty certain Jack is talking about our new wheels, created by Jeff Alton (and currently being offered):
