Post Jacking - Rear Torsion Bar Tubes

If you support the rear of the car off of the rear torsion bar tubes (as described in 101 Projects), can you leave the car on the jack stands for any length of time (say 2 months) or will it cause undo stress ?

If not, where should jack stands be placed (in the rear) for "longer" periods of time ?

Thanks in advance.

Jim

The tube covers are structural members and can support the weight of the car for an indefinite period of time. Last winter my '72 sat on stands for 4 months.

Good question Jim, and thanks for the answer Kurt! My car is up on stands too, and I wondered the same thing.
